Dr. Marco Hefti is one of two Iowa Neuroscience Institute Junior Research Program of Excellence awardees. Thanks to a generous grant from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust, this award from the INI provides two years of funding ($150,000 per year for 2 years) to promising faculty researchers at the early stage of their careers. Dr. Hefti’s laboratory studies the developmental role of the tau protein and how it relates to tau toxicity in the aging brain.
